High School Prom, 1962

We're kicking off prom season with scenes from Cuba City High School's junior prom and post prom on May 11, 1962. Enjoy this glimpse into festivities that occurred 60 years ago!

The prom was held in the new high school gym. According to the yearbook, the theme was "Down in the Caribbean," and decorations included a "large number of colorful flowers, palm trees, and scenic views of the Caribbean." Prom King and Queen were David Alt and Susan Loeffelholz. Deanna Brewer, John Goffinet, Carol Reese, David Schmieder, Helen Vaassen, Ronnie Rogers, Phyllis Holt, Chris Brandt, Joann Alt, and Allen Booth were also on prom court.

The post prom, put on by the parents, was held at the old school gymnasium, or "the Pit." The theme appears to be "Peppermint Lounge."
