NEWSPAPERS

  • Archive of Wisconsin Newspapers: Search and access digital copies of many Wisconsin newspapers, including the Tri-County Press from 2005-present. Select historic papers are also available, including the Benton Mining Times and Benton Advocate covering the years 1894-1959. Database is free for Wisconsin residents through the Badgerlink website.
  • Newspapers.com: Search and access several years of the Cuba City News-Herald between 1894-1924. Many other local newspapers from Grant and Lafayette Counties are also available.  Database is free for Wisconsin residents through the Badgerlink website.

PHOTOGRAPHS

  • Recollection Wisconsin: Some photographs and maps of Cuba City, many contributed by the Grant County Historical Society.
  • Vintage Aerial: Search or browse aerial photographs dating as far back as the 1960s.
  • Wisconsin Historical Society: Several photographs of the Cuba City area, including the invaluable Architecture and History Inventory, which contains images and information about many local buildings from the 1970s-80s.

* The maps listed are those I've found most useful, but the Wisconsin Historical Society has many others, both at the state and county level.
