Circus Day Comes Once a Year
One hundred years ago, Cuba City was preparing for a circus visit, courtesy of the Atterbury Bros. Big Wagon Shows. The event took place on June 9, 1921, but was called off after the first few acts when the audience dispersed at the sign of approaching storms.
The Independent Store was located in the First National Bank (later Cuba City State Bank) building. Cuba City News-Herald (June 3, 1921) |
