Did you know that Cuba City was once home to the Boston Store? While the department store chain we recognize today began in Milwaukee in 1897, the name "Boston Store" had become a fashionable one in the retail industry, and unrelated shops could be found across the country. Darlington, Mineral Point, and Lancaster were all home to Boston Stores in the early 1900s. Cuba City's short-lived version opened in the winter of 1913 and changed hands by June of that year. It was located where Antiques & Salvage is today.
