Cuba City Ladies of Yesteryear
This formidable group consists of some of Cuba City's most prominent women of the past. These were the wives of the businessmen and professionals of town and, while we don't know the occasion, it could have been a meeting for any of the numerous church or civic organizations that existed at the time (circa 1910). Many thanks to Ron Holland for sharing this photograph belonging to his great aunt, Hazel Willey!
The women were identified on the back of the photograph as: Back row standing, left to right: Carrie Mattert, Mabel Heil, Mrs. Lowe, Annie Thomas, Mrs. Frank (Bessie) Stephens, Mrs. Ellie Banfield, Laura Eustice, Mrs. Dr. (Margaret) MacDonald, Mrs. Lib (George) Miller. Middle seated on porch: Mrs. Belle Hoffman, Mrs. Gertrude Dixon, Mrs. Ed Lang, Mrs. Polly Smalley. Seated on step: Mrs. Berneice McNett, Mrs. Gen Brewer.
