Bird's-eye View of Cuba City, 1908

This bird's-eye photograph of Cuba City's business district in 1908 captures several buildings that still line Main Street today. The photographer was facing west, and Clay Street is visible on the right as it meanders out into the countryside.

The individual who mailed this postcard was likely attending a convention of the Epworth League, a Methodist young adult association, which was held in Cuba City on June 25-27, 1909. The card is addressed to the Rev. A. F. Kroneman, Darlington's Methodist pastor at the time. The sender marked the place he or she was staying, just on the western outskirts of town, and admitted it was "quite a walk, but a very nice place."
