Uncle Sam Sells Shoes
In honor of Uncle Sam Day, here is a World War I-era advertisement for Hendricks' Shoe Store. The shop was in the vicinity of 101 S. Main, where Banfield Beauty Bar is today. Owner John Hendricks sold the business to Francis Faherty in 1918, and the interior of the Faherty Shoe Store is pictured below.
