Delbert Lee

Today is National Read a Book Day. This photo of Delbert Lee was taken by Bob Coyle and appeared in the Telegraph Herald on October 4, 1971. Lee was a tailor, furrier, and upholsterer, among other things, and occupied the corner of Main and Calhoun Street, where the Tri-County Press is located today. He moved to Cuba City in 1924 and remained until his death in 1983.

  1. Delbert Lee was such a kind man. He used to look out for my great grandmother, Laura Clemens. We loved to go visit when we were in town. I remember he told me that he shined his car with motor oil. I’m not sure if he had a model T or something similar. I’m glad that his shop building is preserved as the Tri-County Press. Laura’s home was torn down to make a parking lot for Sentry.
