The Old Red Brick Schoolhouse

Thank you to Reggie Polfer for sharing the following information on one of Cuba City's early schools, which was located on his property. A school district was formed in 1858 and a red brick schoolhouse built just south of the village. The school location is indicated by the red arrow on this 1895 map.


Land for the school was purchased from James and Elizabeth Reed for $15.00. That transaction is recorded below.
