Face lift for the Loeffelholz Bros.

One hundred years ago, a Cuba City landmark got a face lift that remains intact to this day. Newspaper editor Herman Goldthorpe approved:
"A change is being made in the front of the Loeffelholz Bros. garage. The old gable front is being modified to square top and the appearance is greatly improved thereby" --Cuba City News-Herald (July 9, 1920).
The new look for the Loeffelholz Bros. Ford Garage and Auditorium was featured in this movie listing, published in the local newspaper on October 15, 1920.

The building before the roof embellishment can be seen below. It still stands on Main Street, across from City Hall.
