Tri-State Mining District, 1906

This map of the tri-state mining region was published in the Complete Year Book of Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa Lead and Zinc Mines in 1906. Notice the dashed line representing one of many proposed rail lines between Dubuque and Platteville that never materialized. Also, look for "Happyville," a likely reference to Happy Corners.
