Smelser, 1878

In 1878, just a few years after Cuba City sprang into existence, a map of Grant County was published by Snyder, Van Vechten & Co. This detail of Smelser Township includes the communities of Cuba City, Georgetown, St. Rose, Elmo, and Big Patch, as well as the new railroad that would heavily influence the area's future.
