Albert James Galligan Goes to War

Just in time for Veterans Day, enjoy this amazing collection from Albert James Galligan (1896-1972), a World War I veteran from Cuba City. Galligan sailed for France in 1918, serving with the 86th "Black Hawk" Division, 331st Machine Gun Battalion. He returned safely to the U.S. in 1919. Versailles, France. June 19, 1919.

 

Card sent by Galligan to his family in Cuba City to announce his return.

 

Upon his return to the United States, Galligan was sent to Camp Merritt in New Jersey.
