Baxter Mine

The Baxter Mine was located northeast of Cuba City. According to the Cuba City Centennial Book, "it was one of the richer mines in the district, being a particularly good lead producer." Men by the name of Parker, Palmer, and Bostwick came here from Janesville and were involved with this particular mine.

Pictured below is a cave-in that occurred at the mine in the early 1900s.
