Love was in the air sixty years ago at the Cuba City High School's Sweetheart Ball. The following description and photographs were printed in the 1961 CCHS yearbook:
"On Saturday evening, January 28, 1961, the senior class held a Sweetheart Ball in the high school gymnasium. The theme was 'Wonderland by Night' with music furnished by the Jack Busch Orchestra. The decorations consisted of red and white streamers on the sides; a large red foil heart with cupids and smaller hearts was used at one end; and the stage had streamers with two red hearts decorated like two sweethearts. At ten o'clock there was a drawing selecting our King Peter Kaster and Queen Shelbe Reese. They led the grand march which followed the drawing. The chaperones were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Canaan, Mr. and Mrs. George Legler, and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Noggle."
