Ringing in 1970

The Cuba City area offered New Year's Eve revelers at least a few options to ring in 1970 in style. The Elmo Club was planning a hopping celebration:

And, the newly opened Cole Acres Country Club was celebrating its first New Year's, as described in this article:

Cole Acres Club Plans Big New Year's Eve

Plans are now complete for a very gala celebration to welcome 1970 at Cole Acres Country Club. This beautiful new facility is buzzing with activity in preparation for a capacity crowd of members and friends.

In addition to the usual hats, horns and balloons, the Smith Orchestra will play for dancing in the main dining room, and the new downstairs lounge will be open to provide additional space. There will be a wide choice of excellent food, door prizes and a bit of impromptu entertainment rarely seen short of Las Vegas or Piccadilly Circus. The festivities are open to the entire community for either all or part of the evening.

Committee chairmen in charge of arrangements are Mr and Mrs. Ozzie Barth, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Mader, Mr. and Mrs. Don Donohoo, Mr. and Mrs. David Birkett, and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Bennett.
