Walking the tracks

Walking the tracks was a frequent activity, whether for business or pleasure. These photos were taken by Rachel Idel Smith, a Cuba City schoolteacher from 1921-1923. Thank you to Linda Lambert for sharing!

This image was labeled "The Goan Sisters." The women are likely sisters Fava and Lois Goan, teachers at the Cuba City High School in the early 1920s. Fava served as English teacher and librarian and Lois taught mathematics.
