Christmas suggestions from Florine's

This Christmas advertisement must have been a success for Florine's in 1917, because the drugstore used it again the following holiday season.

Advertisement published in the Cuba City News-Herald, December 20, 1918.

Florine's was located in the building now occupied by Subway, on the corner of Main and Clay Street.

  1. My parents (Butch and Sylvia McCrea) owned and ran Florines from 1954 through the middle 1960s. In their time, it was a go-place for non-prescription medications; a soda fountain; veterinary supplies; liquor, beer and wine; greeting cards; tobacco products; and seasonal gifts. It was a mainstay of Main Street and its demise was sad for me and my sisters. I hope that Subway retained the wonderful original tin ceiling, even though it might be hidden behind their current drop ceiling. We lived above the store and I have wonderful memories of my childhood through high school days in Cuba City.
